Special to The Washington Post. March 10. Collector of Internal Revenue Galen Tait announced a final settlement in the Stewart Distilling Company case. A large quantity of whisky seized months ago by Washington prohibition agents was returned to the company totaling 7806 cases. Five barrels were seized on a separate charge for improper labeling during transfer between bonded and free warehouses. The seizure arose from the plant arrangement involving a section of bonded warehouse used as a storage area for empty barrels. Free warehouses must be on private property and not connected to government warehouses. After 28 months, the commissioner of internal revenue ruled the goods should be returned.
