Jobs for College Men Valuable in Railroad Work
The Pennsylvania Railroad seeks more college trained men for operating and engineering posts as line improvements expand. Trainees begin as rodmen, advance through yards at Altoona, then supervisor roles, with a four year special apprentice track. A proposed policy would raise entry age from 34 to 45, broadening the labor pool while maintaining pension benefits.

Market Decline Seen as Consequence of Past Speculation
New York March 16. Wall Street dealt in a more selective manner than since the great liquidation move of 193. The market remained demoralized yet not panicky as rallies offered brief relief. Railroad stocks sagged with dividends and surplus concerns, while industrials fell on fears of reduced earnings. Bank of England conditions worry domestic finance as gold shipments continue and liquidity remains tight. DANIHL F. KELLOGG.
