MOTHERS-IN-LAW PRAISED AS CHIVALRY DEFENDS WOMEN
J B Clayton chief clerk of the Bureau of American Ethnology argued that ninety nine out of a hundred mothers in law are better than sons in law in a talk on The new chivalry at the M C A building. He defined chivalry as sanctified common sense and urged recognition of women's real worth. He warned the double standard would end and noted prodigals or sisters should be treated the same as prodigal brothers. A sacred concert by the Philharmonic Ladies Quartet preceded the address.
