Citizens Win Case Over Districts In Northeast Washington
The District Court of Appeals reversed the previous ruling and grants an injunction to block narrowing the public roadways in the northeast, preserving street widths on G Street Northeast. The decision, by Chief Justice Shepard, held that street width changes after establishment require more than central authority and may be limited by earlier public use. The ruling also covers related cases on publishing contracts and other district matters, remanding several actions for trial.
