A. W. Nowlin, seventy one, former Virginia legislator and judge, died after a fall during an attempt to eject Leo Fitzgerald from the Central Union Mission. Fitzgerald was detained by police awaiting a coroner's inquest. Nowlin lived in Washington for years and had a daughter in Colorado.
