Tragic Farm Death: Pfister Sets Hay Barn Fire Then Shoots Self
Nathan Pfister, after telephoning a friend about suicide, purchased a revolver, asked a bartender to load it, and planned to shoot a thief. He was struck by a car, walked to a farm, fired into his neck, entered a hay loft, and set the barn ablaze as the charred body was found among the ruins. Pfister had been drinking heavily, despondent for weeks, and warned his intended killer of the act before the blaze and death.
