Mrs James Tanner Die in Auto Crash Near Washington
Mrs James Tanner wife of Gen Tanner commando in chief of the Grand Army of the Republic was killed this afternoon in an automobile accident while returning from an inspection tour. The car toppled after ground gave way and crushed her between a pile of bowlders and a telegraph pole. Her husband and others were injured but survived. The party had been touring Fort Harrison and Broadwater and were en route to a hotel reception.
