Slush Fund Accused in Higginbotham Tabert Case

Defense charges a North Dakotan slush fund financed prosecutions to push propaganda and coach witnesses in the Higginbotham trial over the Tabert murder. The State contends the move aimed to prejudice the jury as it nears closing its case. Witness Graham Ward denies offers of $5,000 to testify and disputes any such statements. Ward testified Higginbotham whipped a prisoner, counted up to seven licks before he stopped.
