Niagara Falls June 27 Lincoln Beachey the California aviator flew his biplane through the spray and past the upper and lower steel arch bridges above the Niagara Gorge. Patrick Eustice would have perished if not for John Murray a fellow worker who grabbed him by the blouse and swung him inward landing on cross beams on the eighteenth floor. Eustice bruised but alive Murray resumed his riveting.
In Yonkers New York a 5 ton molten iron ladle ruptured at the Otis elevator works foundry sending molten metal onto workers. Nine men were burned and two severely enough to die. Henry Stedman and John Clark were among the victims with poor prospects for recovery.
Atlanta dispatch reports Governor Brown Judge Brand and Sheriff Stark failed to deploy troops to protect prisoners in Walton county causing two black men Tom Allen and Joe Walls to be lynched. Allen was taken toward Monroe then mobbed near Social Circle and hanged and shot. Walls was seized in Monroe and hanged then shot. Probing possible as officials deny responsibility.
