Tragic End of Maximilian at Queretaro Forged in 1867
A 1867 report notes Maximilian of Mexico and generals Mejia Miramum were shot at the Hill of the Bells near Queretaro ending the imperial dream. Blanquet joins Huerta’s cabinet as Juarez’s triumphs are asserted. A chapel marks the spot and a metal wreath adorns the pillar where the emperor stood.
