Wilson redraws District commissioner search after talks
President Wilson reopened the contest for civilian vacancies on the District Board of Commissioners after consultations with aides. No clear reason was given for the restart, and one candidate reportedly withdrew. The White House aims for a nonpartisan, right man outcome and plans to hold nominations until Congress acts on funding. Local Democrats fear loss of party backing as the process resets.
