Mrs Maddux of 1015 Four-and-a-Half Street SW filed with the Public Utilities Commission protesting the Washington Railway and Electric Company plan to discontinue transfers at its wharves and Le Droit Park southbound Ninth Street line at Ninth and E Streets NW. She argues the change imposes hardship by forcing her to pay extra fares between home and work across lines. The commission will investigate, noting that changes affecting rates require prior commission authority.
