Tragic death as a high box wagon toppled on Rosenbach
Alfred Rosenbach aged thirty two died from a fractured skull after a high box wagon he rode on became entangled with tree limbs at Fifth and N streets. He was thrown to the ground and died shortly after admission to the Homeopathic Hospital. The coroner issued an accidental death certificate. The incident occurred while Rosenbach collected empty cans, driving a nearly twenty two foot high wagon managed by Atkins, who runs an oil business on E street. The accident happened when the wagon grazed a gutter and brush from trees knocked loose the lines, preventing Rosenbach from stopping or steering away. He fell headfirst to the street and sustained fatal injuries. Policeman Gibson witnessed the mishap and noted Rosenbach was unconscious upon arrival at the hospital. Continuous weather notes followed in the issue.
