Alumni Day Exercises Highlight March 1902 Graduation Parade
The university held a large parade and class day events honoring graduates with a four department degree revival. Commencement followed at 4 pm with Henry Boutell delivering the address and 400 degrees conferred across dental, medical, and law schools. The board of regents discussed the split of the preparatory school onto 40 acres opposite the Colby site, and new members were named to the alumni association.

Bathing Beach Their Mecca Opens Busy Season
The municipal pools near the Monument opened the swimming season with a rush at 2 PM. More than 3 small boys swam earlier, while after 4 PM several hundred women and girls used the facilities. Hours run 2 to 6 PM until June, then revised schedules from July 1. Daniel J. Donovan, acting superintendent, noted the beach would not open until 2 PM though children arrived early.
