Bryan chides Wilson soldiers and workmen day
Former Secretary of State W J Bryan warned at Liberty Hut that enforcing prohibition would not meet resistance from soldiers or laboring men. He predicted a Republican Congress would resist a Democratic president when right and wrong, and criticized Wilson for recommending light wine and beer exemptions. He backed prosecution, noted wartime politics, and stressed enforcement against liquor forces amid a dry movement.
