Renew Home Rule Debate In Commons In June Session
London June 2 The house of commons resumed consideration of home rule in committee. Clauses four five and six passed with little change. An amendment to omit imperial parliament control of armed forces failed narrowly. A clause on a separate Irish postal service was opposed by Sir Edward Carson and the government agreed to revisit it. Clauses seven eight were adopted placing the government in Dublin or other Irish parliamentary sites. An amendment on police control by six years was discussed as Walter Long urged a shorter term praising the Irish police for courage amid a vendetta.
