Universal Peace and International Arbitration Conference Discussion
Tanda to submit all their differences to arbitration resenting the ideal toward which we are moving. Move for Universal Peace. The evolution of the movement for universal peace points to the early establishment of an international parliament with advisory power and necessary agency. We renew our declarations of last year regarding representation of all civilized nations. We commend the Interparliamentary Union and the American group. We note progress in arbitration as no country has repudiated an arbitral award. Public opinion will enforce international decrees and deter attacks on awards. We urge active promotion of public sentiment and education by universities, schools, and colleges. Chancellor Henry M. McCracken spoke on how education can aid arbitration. Brief greetings by Dr H Chirug, Count de la Rocca, and Dr Josep de J. Fanl. Dr Daniel C. Gilman urged undergraduates to study arbitration principles. February 22 or May 18, Hague anniversaries, suggested for student meetings.
