Mandamus Sues to Force Payment on Union Station Act
The Philadelphia Baltimore and Washington Railroad Company filed mandamus proceedings in District Supreme Court against city commissioners to compel disclosure of compliance with the Union Station Act of 1908 and to secure the $1,000,000 payment from the United States for grade crossing abolition. The company says completion delays by the District, including the New Jersey avenue bridge and South Washington substation, are not required by the act and harms the company by blocking funds.
