District Board Upheld On Sidewalk Parking Rights
Washington merchants may not claim sidewalk or parking rights on business streets. Chief Justice Covington in the District Supreme Court ruled the act grants no such property right and leaves public space use to the District commissioners discretion. The case of Joseph L. Cropper sought to compel removal of lumber on a sidewalk, but the writ was denied.
