Actor Jogi Mackey Sentenced Nine Months for Housebreaking
John J. Schlesinger alias Jogi Mackey, an actor, was brought to Washington from Newark to answer a housebreaking charge. He pled guilty and received a nine month jail term. He was first arrested May 6 1907 for entering dentists offices and stealing valuables. He had failed to appear at trial and his bond was forfeited. A bench warrant followed his Newark location. He once acted as a detective at a local theater. Sister inherits and executrix named under Gertrude Richey Bartlett will dated August 31 19, and probated yesterday. Also San Francisco appraiser post to replace John Dare on Sept 1.
