St Albans Church Choirs Keep Half Century Tradition
St Albans Church on Constitution Avenue marks fifty years of voluntary choirs and music led by Mr. Clark Middleton. The original Nourse family fund helped build the church in 1855, with Rosa Nourse as first organist and a succession of volunteer organists and choristers guiding services. A new organ replaced the old one two years ago, and Middleton now trains a boys choir plus a Hearst Cathedral School girls choir, delivering morning and evening offerings and outdoor summer services with the Marine Band.
