Marriage of Mrs Burke Roche and Aurel Batonyi Revealed

Dozen Persons Injured In Worcester Streetcar Crash

Dozens of passengers were injured when a runaway electric car struck two telegraph poles on Belmont street hill in Worcester Massachusetts. At least two dozen people suffered injuries including Thomas Reid and Martin Kratee with concussion and severe lacerations. About fifty people were aboard the car at the time of the crash on the Worcester Consolidated Street Railway line.

Death in Pillow Fight at Philadelphia Hospital

In a ward for nervous patients at Philadelphia Hospital two inmates, Samuel B. Young and Theodore Horne, fought with pillows. Young, aged 56, was knocked down and died almost instantly when his head struck an iron cane. Horne is under surveillance awaiting a hearing when fit for removal.

Trio of Murders at Barber Junction Farm Traced to Tenants

In Winston Salem July 14 three masked negro tenants attacked Isaac Lyerly's home near Barber Junction, killing the farmer, his wife, and son, injuring a daughter. Robbers drenched beds with oil and set them ablaze. Three men and a woman were arrested after a coroner's inquiry. the sheriff moved prisoners to Greensboro amid fears of a lynching. A valued ax used in the killings was left under the porch.

Mine Worker for Congress in Eleventh District Nomination
