Oscar Erbsloeh, noted aeronaut and winner of the 1907 American balloon race, with four companions, died when the nonrigid dirigible Grbslech exploded after a foggy ascent near Elberfeld. The balloon struck the earth in a field near Opladen at about 9:90, crushing and tearing the crew. Authorities cited a burst benzine tank and torn envelope as causes, while peasants nearby witnessed the downfall and recovered the bodies.

Father Flees With 80N Kidnapped Two-Year-Old

He allegedly seized the child from the mother on the porch and fled aboard an interurban street car. Martin is said to have received 10 000 to relinquish all claim to the child.
