Death of Ury Denenberg in Elevator Shaft Fall

Ury Denenberg a prominent New York and Washington coffee merchant plunged three stories into the elevator shaft at Manhattan Coffee Mills 618 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington shortly after 8 pm while attempting to hoist a car. Coroner's certificate calls it accidental death. Denenberg 55, longtime Washington businessman, was visiting from New York. his wife and son were notified.

Submarine 3-4 Damaged Entering Trial at Sea Dock

Boston July 12 The naval submarine 3-4 recently completed at Philadelphia yards struck a submerged obstruction during trials bending her bow and loosening plates. She is now in dock for repairs and expected to sail soon.

Mother's Punishment for Flirting Ends in Girl's Suicide

Mary de Martino a 16 year old girl shot herself in the breast on the roof of a East Forty seventh street building after her mother punished her for flirting. She was found by the mother and later taken to Flower Hospital in critical condition with a bullet wound. The revolver's origin remains unexplained.

Alleged labor pledge recall fight on Hughes in New Jersey

Supreme Court Justice Goff refused Charles Becker a new trial for the murder of gambler Herman Rosenthal.
