Three Bankers Held as Enemies in New York Case
New York July 11. Turlus Pirnitzer former president of the Transatlantic Trust Company and three other officers were arrested as dangerous enemy aliens. The bank had been taken over and reorganized by A Mitchell Palmer as property custodian. Palmer’s representative says 73 percent of capital stock belonged to three Budapest financial institutions, with 27 percent owned by American citizens. Others arrested include Andrew Gomary Guido Von Steer and Dr Isidore Szekely. Pirnitzer denied the charges. The bank handled about 60 percent of the $800,000 Antro-Hungarian war loan and about $1,000,000 of the German loan subscriptions.

Washington Flier Injured in Fall
Two incidents report military aviation accidents. In Wichita Falls Texas Second Lieut Harry J Ross instructor was killed when his plane fell at Davis Field from about 100 feet. In Belleville Illinois Lieut Lee C Giddings was killed and Cadet Edward C Darlington was severely injured when a plane dropped 800 feet at Scott Field near here.
