Market Drops After Copper Weakness in London Outlook
New York July 11 The Washington Post reports a weak security market reflecting a sharp fall in copper prices in London. Amalgamated Copper led declines as investors priced in reduced copper production and renewed fears of a broader business slowdown. Heavy rains affected the northwestern spring wheat district, with wheat prices sliding toward weekly lows amid a strong bank statement and cautious lending. The article notes signals of a potential recovery if copper output tightens and liquidity improves.
