Indictment Sought Against Waggaman Over Investments
District Attorney Beach found insufficient evidence to indict Thomas Waggaman over funds placed with him for investment. John A Brown sought charges after a $2300 note caused an estimated $12,000 loss. 150 witnesses were examined, but no grand jury action occurred. The Department of Justice agreed with Beach’s stance, and no further action is planned. Brown pursued relief via Rep. Moon and Attorney General Moody, who promised review but ultimately declined.
