White and Belmont Meet Quietly Amid Mourning

White and Belmont have not met recently amid formal mourning. Belmont left last week from the Ritz on a fortnightly automo bile tour after a brief stay in Paris following a Loire district trip. Ambassador White stayed in London visiting friends and attended memorial services for W. B. Leeds. The two avoid hostility with the American embassy. Nearby, living brook trout once entertained guests at the Plaza Hotel fountain in New York but have been moved after women guests wept at the sight of the speckled fish. A dip net once allowed guests to capture trout, a feature that proved popular before emotional reactions led to its end.
