New York July 7 Max Prichep and Abe Prichep run a clothing store at 50 Essex Street. An attempted burglary at their room ended when a thief known as Will Levine slipped down a clothes pole, crushed Mrs Kelbauer's skull on the pavement, and was captured nearby. The third man, Harry Struhall, fled. Levine admitted the name during arrest.

A dory party of ten, including Miss Baxter's uncle Auss Baxter, were in a power boat upstream when Miss Baxter began to sink and called for help. Fuack and Miss Baxter, both swimmers, were lost despite efforts by bystanders.
In Keyport New Jersey an Atlantic Highlands bound train on the Jersey Central struck a car at Broad Street crossing. Christopher Horandt of Paterson was killed when the auto was hit and dragged. His nephew Reinhardt Binder was severely injured and his daughter Ruth bruised. Mrs Horandt survived with shock. The collision disrupted service due to a nearby trestle fire.
John H. Ryno of Asbury Park, aged ninety, was fatally struck by Dr. Lucas F Donaire’s Sihorsenawer Panhard in Asbury Park. He was crossing diagonally when hit. wheels passed over him. He died within an hour at Long Branch Hospital. Chauffeur Cyrus F Axtell was arrested.
At Paw July 7 Dr J H Nichols and F Williams, both of Minneapolis, were probably fatally injured in an automobile accident this afternoon. They rode with Mrs Nichols and J H Smith and wife. The car, driven by the chauffeur, lost control on Summit Avenue, rolled over about 200 feet to the edge of the Mississippi River. All occupants were taken to a hospital.
