Arlington County Industrial Group forms new body

A new Arlington County driven industrial group has been perfected led by M B Harrow as president with J L Weaver as vice president and F R Weller as secretary. The group lists an extensive executive committee including local business leaders from Alexandria and Washington. The effort aims to attract plants to Arlington along Potomac shores, aided by four trunk railroads to cut freight costs and boost regional growth. The county health chief urged parents to keep children from streams to prevent typhoid and inoculation campaigns were promoted. Fire department officers were announced for Ballston, and a pastor search committee for Clarendon Baptist church outlined. The week includes civic meetings in Lyon Park and Boy Scout plans, plus arrests and social events reported from Clarendon and surrounding communities.
