Play Review: A Farce of Love and Deception at the Theater
The production features Miss Hobbs as a charming heroine despite men’s misgivings, with Wolff Kingsearl and Percival Kingsearl driving schemes that end in Cupid’s help. Julia Dean shines as Miss Hobbs while Emilie Melville impresses as Aunt Susan, and Everett Butterfield holds the lead. The plot, though roomy at times, yields many laugh provoking moments as songs, patriotic airs, and a rousing finale conclude the holiday evening.
