Canada to get new governor general Duke of Devonshire
The article argues the Duke of Devonshire is the most suitable and likely choice to become Canada’s next governor general replacing the late Duke of Connaught. It describes his democratic bearing, tact, wealth, and long-standing royal connections, contrasting him with rivals like Lord Curzon and Lord Milner and noting his history of public service and affection for Canadians. It also details family intrigues within the Cavendish line, including past marriages and succession rumors surrounding the Devonshire dukedom.
