Inmate Vermin and Sulphur Fumigation at Washington Asylum
A district investigation found vermin on clothes of four inmates at the Washington Asylum Hospital but blamed no officials. The report says vermin could still appear despite care, and that sulphur fumigation failed to destroy germs in clothing. Limited facilities and overcrowding hinder complete cleanliness efforts. The panel recommends dry steam sterilization, though it requires special funding.
