Rehearing Sought in New York Gas Case Decree Declared Inconsistent
Attorneys for the New York Consolidated Gas Co ask the U S Supreme Court for a rehearing claiming the decree ignores controlling facts and overestimates costs and profits from an assumed rise in sales They challenge constitutional issues in the New York pressure law and argue the court erred in placing most costs on the complainant The petition contends the court failed to grant relief from the 1895 tax provisions and would force a final loss of 185 million dollars under current rates.
