Deboven Protests Committee Bid for Inaugural Music

Reginald de Koven denounces the music committee's bids for the inaugural ceremonies as provincial and unfair. He cites two bids, notes the Washington Symphony Orchestra and Haley's Band, and argues government underbidding by a civilian musician hurts national interest. He calls for fair competition and criticizes the chair's star chamber methods. The letter ends with a call to consider distinguished musicians nationwide and preserve civilian rights.
