Court Items and Indictments Highlight Washington Docket
Charles Craughn, chauffeur in the fatal Sixteenth Street crash, was released by order of Chief Justice Clabaugh after promising to answer any grand jury action. In other cases, Harry Godfrey and George Wilson pleaded guilty to thefts and received jail terms. The grand jury indicted multiple defendants for robbery, larceny, and assault, while a traffic violation charge against a chauffeur was upheld. Emma Reed’s will was probated, naming her husband as life tenant and detailing shares for twelve nieces and nephews, with a codicil appointing A. S. Caywood as executor after the husband’s death.
