Elmer W. Fugitt seven year old son of R. B. A brother alerted parents and he was rescued, standing with only his head showing, then taken home little worse for the experience.
Special to The Washington Post reports the Wabash Railroad will sever its Pittsburg connections and cease lines east of Toledo on April 1. The move returns the line to its pre-Pittsburg expansion position after $22 million spent in the area. About $54.5 million worth of railroad property will be given up.
Allentown Pa January 1 Former Representative C J Erdman aged 64 died at his home after a lingering illness He served two terms in the Thirteenth Pennsylvania district and authored the Erdman act guiding arbitration in labor disputes He was Gettysburg College class of 65 and admitted to the Lehigh county bar in 1867 A prominent lawyer he led the Allen Mutual Fire Insurance Company and the Coplay Cement Company and was a director of local turnpike firms.
San Francisco dispatch reports a historic aviation experiment at Camp Selfridge where Lieut. M. S. Crissy dropped a five loaded anti aircraft bomb from a Wright bi plane at 475 feet striking a smoke plume signifying success. Lieut. Walker photographed and observed from 1000 feet as Walter Brooking assisted.
