Woman in Death Row Confession Sparks Commutation
In New York on January 9 a woman named Ferrile confessed to a jury that hatred for the men who killed her husband drove her actions saving Nicolo Zarconi of Brooklyn from execution. Barconi had been slated for next week’s death for murder of Frank Ferrilo. Mrs Ferrila claimed her husband was killed in a quarrel with Zarconi. Zarconi was moved from Sing Sing and his sentence reduced to under ten years imprisonment.
