District pushes $300,000 TB hospital buildings plan
Mrs Medill McCormick led a Reform coalition urging the House Burleson subcommittee to authorize 300000 for new municipal tuberculosis hospital buildings and 60000 for preliminary plans. They proposed 2000 for incipient cages, 450 for vacuum cleaners, 800 for a disinfecting plant, 750 for a sputum incinerator and 1000 for a high pressure boiler as part of a 66448 increase over last year. Col Langfitt Maj Taylor and Col Judson argued for aqueduct militia and water department needs as hearings closed. The subcommittee plans an inspection tour and aims to have the bill ready within ten days.

Elk Grove Butter declines to save slaver execution date set
Andrew Gonzales, the Negro wife murderer, will hang at the District jail on January 27. President Taft refused clemency, but granted a respite delaying the execution until January 27. Taft cited lack of insanity grounds and reports from Dr White and the Attorney General. A further respite from January 18 to January 2 aims to allow preparation for death. Physicians deem Gonzales to be brooding over his offense and awaiting execution.
