Coroner Jury Weighs Duty in Silver Spring Signal Case
After five days of testimony in the Baltimore and Ohio Terra Cotta wreck inquiry, Coroner Nevitt's jury hears conflicting accounts from Operator Dutrow and Engineer Hildebrand on whether a white signal or a double green was displayed at Silver Spring. Watch standards and clock accuracy emerge as key issues, with witnesses from Dutrow, Hewitt, Trundle, Hoffmier, and others confirming or challenging signals and timings as the jury seeks responsibility for the catastrophe.
