Car Tie-Up On F Street Causes Traffic Tie Up

A major evening tie-up on F Street disrupted streetcar service from 7:45 to 8:20. Over twenty cars lined from the Minitt House to Ninth and F, with many passengers alighting. A passenger reportedly knocked a switch chain from a conductor's hand causing a jammed switch plow to block the rail. Crews worked thirty minutes to free the plow and restore service while Gen Harries, VP of the car company, directed operations from his car. Later measures routed cars around Ninth, G, and Eleventh to move them back toward Georgetown. In a separate note, Columbia Lodge urged support for the Powers Lodge child labor bill.
