Capt Dunn of the Wall Street detective bureau reports two certified and endorsed checks numbers 8 and 9, for 50 dollars each, drawn by Herman Arpe and payable to Frederick Henks. The Farmers Loan and Trust Company certified the checks at 22 William Street and they were parabolled at the National City Bank in Charleston and Summerville.

Stolen Jewels Found on Savannah Train Trip
A satchel containing diamonds valued at at least 60000 was recovered in Savannah. It was brought by Conductor T H Adair of the Atlantic Coast Line from New York to Tampa via the Pennsylvania Railroad and Southern Railway. The jewels were taken December 11 from a safety deposit box belonging to the Mirandas. Police arrested Mrs L C Brown and her daughter Miss Buelah Belle Brown but released them after a preliminary hearing. A porter's search on another train failed to locate the satchel.
