Hays Linked to Swamp Land Deal Before House Committee

Testimony before the House committee on expenditures in the Department of Agriculture recounts Assistant Secretary Hays considering a personal investment in a Dismal Swamp development project in North Carolina. John Selp of Chillicothe, Ohio, testified he dropped the plan due to Wright's attitude and a proposed payment to secure Lake Mattamuskett land.
