House Conferees Debate Presidential Salary Increase
The debate centers on raising the presidential salary to 10000 dollars with M Gillett arguing the chief executive should have a reserve for future needs. Moodbach and others press for higher pay for Supreme Court justices and officials, citing the White House maintenance and military service costs. The discussion, intertwined with committee votes and fiscal considerations, weighs the expense against the need for a dignified compensation package.
