A newspaper puzzle invites readers to form 26 words from a letter chart, each starting with a different letter. Words may be repeated as long as letter counts from the chart suffice, with prizes and subscription rules affecting potential dividends based on the submitted payments.

The Prizes In The Subscription Contest At The Post

First prize is fifty dollars plus a dividend of 25 times the subscription amount paid by the winner, with a minimum 50 cents and maximum 8.40 dollars. Second prize is twenty five dollars plus a 20 times dividend. Third prize a fifty dollar diamond ring or solid gold watch plus a ten times dividend. Fourth prize the other item plus a ten times dividend. Fifth prize a thirty five dollar tailor made outfit plus a ten times dividend. Sixth prize twenty five dollars merchandise plus a ten times dividend. Seventh prize twenty five dollars furniture or rug plus a ten times dividend. Eighth prize twenty dollars plus a ten times dividend. Ninth prize ten dollars plus a ten times dividend. Tenth to twenty fifth prizes five dollars plus a ten times dividend. Each 50 or 70 cents permits one solution, but not more than twelve per contestant. A contestant may win more than one prize.
