In Macon Georgia on February 12 the State convention of the Negro Equal Rights Association convened with former Governor Northen and Rev Dr G A Nunnally slated to speak the next day. William F. Howe a 50 year old agent for Central Hudson Steamboat Company collapsed and died on an elevated L train in New York.
