Letter Carriers Repudiate Unauthorized Statement
A city editor notes a post about August W Machen’s departure to Moundsville penitentiary and recounts a self styled message claiming to speak for all letter carriers. The National Association of Letter Carriers denies any concerted action and disavows the statement as the opinion of one clerk not authorized by the union. The secretary of the association stresses innocence and support for Machen is not a collective stance.
