Primary Battle in West Virginia House Over Voting Aid and Tax Appointments
In Charleston, West Virginia, February 4, a heated House debate on the primary election bill saw counties in the Black Belt opposing amendments, including limits on voter aid, while Dillard proposed removing the tax commissioner appointment from the governor. The Senate advanced measures to raise judges' salaries and a nurse exam bill, and a social burial fight affected access to the Capitol.
