New York Girl Seeks Peace Petitions To Ambassadors

Miss Kate Devereaux Blake, a New York grammar school principal, sent a request to the American Peace Society to present a peace petition mile and a half long signed by 300000 children from 29 states. The plan, to send ten children representing warring nations to Washington, was postponed after Blake’s sudden illness. The effort aims to curb militarism by instilling pacifist ideals, with petitions prepared by students and printed and bound by several schools and institutions.
