Christmas in Prison Prisoners Suited by Christmas Plans and Court
A Chicago police blotter describes Christmas in local stations as 187 inmates face gloom from confinement after Saturday night intoxication and disorders. Some prisoners hoped for warmth and meals, others sought money for family gifts, with several released on bail after wives paid collateral. A veteran, James Carroll, long homeless, finds hope in a Christmas meal and bed at the workhouse while others plan court appearances or face jail.
